The Association has been formed to publish a substantial new history of the former county of Gwent. The five-volume series will cover the history of the county from the Palaeolithic period to the end of the second millennium. It aims to combine the latest research and high academic standards with accessibility and readability.
Volume 1: Gwent in Prehistory and Early History was published by the University of Wales Press in July 2004.
Volume 2: The Age of the Marcher Lordships, c 1070-1536 (ISBN 9780708320723) was published in June 2008.
Volume 3: The Making of Monmouthshire, 1536-1780 was launched at Pontypool Museum on Friday 13 March. More ...
